Our New Project and Other

So Kyle decided that Kade needed another project, because I guess that feeding the cows and horses wasn't enough, so he went and bought 4 pigs....yes pigs! I have never smelt an animal so stinky in my life and I now own 4 of them. Kade loves to go and feed them though and he had a blast naming them. Growing up we never had pigs....we always just stuck with the cows and horses and a goat now and again. I think that my dad would roll over in his grave if he knew that we had pigs at the farm....sorry dad!

Tyce and Kade were cracking me up the other day. Tyce wouldn't stop smiling and Kade wouldn't stop growling. I decided to capture the moment with a picture:

I didn't realize that the pictures were so dark..sorry!

Girl's Weekend...And Great News!

Well, I guess that I will start with the great news. Kyle got hired on with Pacificorp today! This might sound weird, but working for the power plant is a coveted job here in Emery County. Everyone would like to work for Pacificorp. Once someone gets on out at the plant, they never leave....making it almost impossible to get on. Well, I am proud to say that Kyle has. We will finally be able to live comfortably and not pay check to pay check. I am so proud of Kyle for going to school and getting all of his qualifications. He has worked hard and it is finally paying off. I am so grateful that he will no longer have to go underground in that crazy coal mine.

Girls Weekend....Every year my mom, my grandma, my sisters and myself take a weekend and party without husbands and kids. This year, we decided to go down to the Tuachan in St. George and see "Big River". We all had a ton of fun at the play and the next day we spent shopping. It was so nice to get away and spend time with just the girls. I am sad that it went by so fast, but it was so fun coming home to excited kids. Kade ran to me as fast as he could and gave me the biggest love ever. Can't wait for next year.

Sick Day

Yesterday after me and my boys got home from school, Kade started coughing and then eventually couldn't breath very well. I did everything I could to calm his asthma, but it wasn't getting any better. I decided that I better not send him to school with me so I called a sub and sent my sub plans with another teacher that travels to price. Well, we woke up this morning and Kade was just fine....no asthma, no cough...so my sick day turned out to be a nice relaxing day with my kids. Too bad that can't happen everyday!

Clean Up at Mom's

So my mom decided that instead of a birthday present, she wanted all of us to come to her house and clean things up around her yard (although my mom's yard is perfect). So we all showed up Saturday morning and spent the entire day cleaning up. We had so much fun together (like we always do) and we got a lot done. After we worked all day, we went up to the Joes Valley Marina for a burger and then went back to my mom's to play games. Even though we were working, we were having the greatest time together. Sisters (and their familes) are the best!!

Mud, Mud, Glorious Mud

This is what happens when I turn my head for two seconds.... I had just watered the flowers which made for a perfect place to slash in the mud. They are definitely ALL boy!

After a few minutes of splashing in the mud....I showed them where the hose was:

I'm Hooked Too...

Okay, so all of my students have been begging me to read Twilight...so I did and now I am hooked. I read the first book in 2 days. I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. A love story about a teenager falling in love with a vampire sounds dumb....but it was pretty good (and really easy to read).

Peach Days

This weekend was Peach Days in Ferron. Kyle is from Ferron so he thought that we should go. We started out the day at the Parade (which lasted forever) and then we ended up at the horse races and the demolition derby. The derby was awesome. One of the cars actually flipped over. Kyle did the derby a few years ago and he was sure regretting not doing it this year. Here are some pictures of the parade. I didn't take any of the races or of the derby.
Waiting for the Parade to start
I bought Kade this bag the other day because he really "needed" it. Anyway, we also had to bring it to the parade. We are just a little bit early for Halloween.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend was great. We started out the weekend on a 4-wheeler ride up East Mountain to check on the cows. The weather was nice and the cows had plenty to eat.
The next day we went fishing at Grassy Lake and Pete's hole. After we got done fishing we decided to take a scenic drive across Skyline. It is so beautiful up there and you really feel like you are on top of the world.
Today we spent most of the day dove hunting. Kyle shot about 7 doves....so I guess it was a success. All in all it was a nice relaxing weekend. I am sad that it is over and we are back to work tomorrow.
