The Farm

When blogging, I tend to forget to post the "everyday" things that we do. Today I decided to blog about the farm. Kyle and I have officially been running the farm for about 2 years. I spent my whole life working down at the farm with my dad and sisters, but I never really knew how much work it actually was. This year we decided to add gated pipe to the farm which has been quite the project. We have always tended water by hand (well, by shovel) so it will be fun to see how much more efficent the pipe will be. Kyle works so hard at the farm and is doing a great job. I know that my dad would be proud of us for our hard work and for keeping the farm in good shape.
We love spending time at the farm. It seems like sometimes we are at the farm more than we are at our house. The boys love being down there. They love to ride the tractor, dig up worms, and they can't get enough of the tire swing. Tyce loves to pet the horses and Kade is the best at feeding them. I am so glad the my boys will be able to work at the farm when they are older just like I did.

Picnic out on the Desert

To my family, Stake Conference means "Wahoo....no church!" It has been that way as long as I can remember. So because we "didn't have church", we went out on the desert for a picnic. Even though the wind blew the entire time, it was still so much fun. Kade loved climbing the rocks and playing with his dump truck and Tyce loved the food (he can out eat any of us). It started to get cold so we had to come home, but being out there made me way excited for Easter.

Tyce is so brave
What a cutie pie

Okay, now for a crazy story:
Yesterday while we were playing outside, Tyce went over to the swings wanting me to push him. Well before I could get to him, he pushed the swing and it came back and knocked him in the mouth. Well, his mouth started to bleed REALLY bad so I ran him in the house to get him cleaned up. As I was looking for the wound, I noticed that he only had 3 teeth on the top and 4 on the bottom. I though to myself......there is no way that the swing could have knocked out his tooth, so I looked again. Sure enough....he was missing a tooth. I thought that maybe he swallowed it with all of the blood, but I decided to go and check the sand box just in case. Sticking out of the sand was his entire tooth. I ran it in the house, stuck it in milk, and called the local dentist (thank goodness everyone knows each other here because this was Saturday night). He said that he could probably save the tooth if we hurried. So I threw Tyce in the car and we went to the dentist office. To make a long story short, we couldn't save the tooth. Now Tyce walks around looking like quite the redneck.....and he will look like that until he gets his permanent teeth when he's like 8!!

Bellamy Brothers Concert

This weekend we went down to Mesquite for a "well needed" weekend getaway. We went with my sisters and their husbands and my mom. We stopped in St. George to shop and then made our way to Mesquite for the Bellamy Brothers Concert. The concert was great. I have always LOVED the Bellamy's and was so excited to finally see them in concert. We were the the youngest people there and we were the loudest. We were dancing and clapping and having a good old time while the geriatrics just sat there and listened. After the concert we spent the rest of the night (and well into the morning) playing blackjack and bingo. It was a great weekend and the most fun I have ever had in Mesquite....

Oh, and I got a new car on Thursday. It is a Toyota Sequoia and it is LOADED. It is so nice! I am really going to love cruising in it.. YEAH!

Test Run

We decided to take the new 4-wheeler on a test run out to the desert the other day. Kyle came home from work early so we loaded up and headed back down to Fuller's Bottom to check on the cows. The new 4-wheeler was AWESOME. It has a lot of power, and it rides SO nice.

We ran into a few of our cows....non who had calved, but some who looked ready too. Next week we will be saddling up and heading back out to hopefully find ALL of the cows with plenty of calves!
