Solider Hollow

Have I ever mentioned that I have the greatest mom ever? Well I do. My mom bought all of us tickets to go tubing up at Solider Hollow yesterday which was a BLAST.
So what happens is you get a tube and then they hook the tube (with you on it) to this pullley that takes you to the top of the hill and you tube down......I don't think it gets any better than that!
Kade had a ball....he loved ever minute of it. As soon as we got to the bottom of the hill we would say "lets go again". He never complained of being cold or scared, he just lauged the entire time. He was such a trooper.
After we finished tubing, we went down into the town of Midway for their Swiss Christmas. We walked through homeade gingerbread houses, we got to decorate our own gingerbread cookies, and we got to walk through thousands of nativity scenes. We finished off our day by going back down into Orem for dinner at Applebee's.
It was such a fun day. But it always fun when you get to hang out with us Jeffs. He like adventure!
Thanks mom!

Tyce didn't get to sled because he was too little....so he just chilled at the bottom

A Whole Lot of Busy

What a busy past few weeks.....
A few weekends ago my sisters and I took our kids up north to see Disney on Ice. I debated on whether or not to take my boys because it was about all of the Disney princesses, but Kade loved it (and so did i). It was so magical
and even though it has all the princesses, it also had the Princes too.
Before the show we went to Pirate Island to eat and the kids thought that it was great......even though us adults thought the food was terrible.

Here is the only picture I got from the entire day. It is at pirate Island. Kade couldn't get enough of that place.

Next was a fun ice fishing trip with Grandpa Larsen. We went up Ferron Reservoir and the boys were so excited to finally see some snow. They loved playing in it and Tyce couldn't stop eating it. He thought that it was the greatest stuff of earth. We didn't catch any fish, but we had a fun time anyway.

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. It was at my moms house again this year and it turned out so nice. After dinner we went out to the farm to shoot some skeet. The weather was great and Kade had a ball pulling the clay pigeons for everyone. He thought that he was pretty special. Later that night we went over to the Larsen's to paint our Christmas Stockings and get our family picture. It was nice to see everyone there. After all of the parties, we went back to my moms house to stay the night so that we could leave our kids with her while we hit Black Friday. Kyle and I left my mom's house at 2:00am. It was insane over in Price, but fun! After the shopping madness (and some pretty good steals) we headed to JB's to have breakfast with Jodi and Russ and Jasa and Jared.

Kade also had fun shooting as well
Tyce just liked chilling in Grandma Jo's lap where it was nice and warm

After we got home from our crazy shopping trip, we decided to go and cut down our Christmas Tree. Kyle wanted to do a little fishing on our way so we went up to Mary's Lake to try our luck there. Once again we were skunked, but we found a great Christmas tree which we decorated when we got home.

Kade needed to look cool like dad

Our pretty tree....I spotted it and new it was the one!

Today my cousin Lance had his baby blessed so we rode over to Elmo for that and now we are finally relaxing and having everyone over for a game of Tripoley and a movie.

Weekend Adventure

On Saturday we thought it would be fun to take the kids out to the desert for a hotdog roast. Kyle had just worked a 12 hour grave and my mom had Jasa's girls so me and my mom loaded up the truck and headed down to Hambrick Bottoms. The kids had so much fun climbing all over the rocks and playing in the dirt.

The next day Kyle and his brother Kory decided to head up Ferron Mountain to cut down some poles to fix fence with at the farm so me and the kids joined them. Before they started cutting, they got out their fishing poles and threw out a line at Ferron Res. Every time they casted out they caught a fish....and nice fish too. They were all SO pretty and a nice size too. Kade and Tyce were in heaven playing with the fish. They loved reeling them in and then throwing them back. Other than is was kind of cold by the reservoir, the day was great.

Every time I go out to the desert or up on the mountain, I remember how lucky I am to be able to live here in Emery County. What a great place to raise my kids!

Halloween and Cow Business

This was definitely a fun and busy weekend for our family. It all started on Friday with a fun Halloween carnival at Ferron Elementary. Kade loved the ring toss, fish pond, and the cake walk. Tyce wasn't too sure about it all, so he just kind of hung out with Kyle. After the carnival, Kyle and I ditched our kids and went to our Friend Zac's house for a little adult party (which was a blast). The next morning we woke up and got back into our costumes to go trick or treating at Grandma Hansen's, Lori's, and Grandma Reids. Our next stop was a Jasa's for a little Halloween carnival of our own. Jamie told gruesome stories, and the rest of us had some really fun activities for the kids. After the carnival we got back into our costumes again for the trunk or treat (okay so this was my first trunk or treat and can I just say....LAME!!) After the trunk or treat we walked all over town trick or treating the good ole fashion way and then ended up back at Grandma Jo's for dinner and a fun game of Tripoly.

The next morning it was back to business. On Nov. 1st, the cows are ready for the desert (and so are we). So we all saddled up and headed out. It was so much fun to have everyone helping out this year. It has been a long time since everyone came....and it was way worth it. It seemed like we had more riders than cows, but we had a blast.
Thanks everyone for coming. Dad would have been SO proud of his little cowboys and cowgirls!

The Larsen's Carving Party

For the past few years the Larsen's have got together for a pumpkin carving party and it is actually quite fun. Everyone brings a yummy treat and we carve pumpkins with the cousins all night long. Kade loves playing with MeyRick, Maddi, Sammy, and Adri. They could play all night without any fights.....its so nice!

This is Kade amazed at the witches brew that Grandma Laurie cooked up

Who do those cute boys belong to? Oh yeah.......ME!

What a silly kid!

Thank goodness our flu bug was only 24 hours....we have to hunt!

So Kyle works literally ALL of the time. It seems like we never get to see him. Its not just every day, it's every day at least 12 hours a day. Not knowing that he would be working all of the time, we both bought elk tags. Rifle for me (which ends on Thursday) and muzzle loader for Kyle (which starts in Nov). Right when Kyle finally had a few days off, me and the kids got a 24 hour flu bug. I have never been that sick (I lost 7 lbs in 24 hours). Thank goodness the flu only lasted 24 hours because I needed to get out and hunt. We went up East Mountain, but ended up never seeing any elk. Hopefully Kyle can score another day off so that we can go hunting again before Thursday.
Here are some pictures from our drive up East Mountain (we have some great hunting partners don't we)
